Data Deletion
How to delete the data INKY.Studio holds about you
What this page is for
When you message a tattoo studio on Instagram, INKY.Studio answers on the studio's behalf and stores the conversation so the studio can follow up with you. This page explains how to have that data deleted, what deletion covers, and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
To have your data deleted, email us. The two points below explain why that is the route to use, and what removing INKY.Studio from Instagram does and does not do.
- Email us — this is the route that gets your data erased. Write to hello@inkystudio.ai from, or quoting, the Instagram account concerned, with the subject "Data Deletion Request". It does not depend on Instagram, and we reply with confirmation once the deletion is complete.
- Removing INKY.Studio from Instagram is not a deletion request. Removing INKY.Studio from the apps and websites connected to your Instagram account revokes our access to it, so we stop receiving your messages — and it is worth doing. But it is not a way of erasing the data we already hold, and we cannot promise you that it will reach us as a deletion request, because whether one is sent is Instagram's to decide. To be certain your data is erased, send the email above.
How your request is handled
A request sent to us by email is handled by a person and completed within 30 days; we reply to confirm when it is done.
If a deletion request does reach us from Instagram, it is checked against a cryptographic signature before anything is deleted, so a request that did not come from Instagram is rejected rather than acted on. Once verified, we erase in a single step and issue a confirmation code only after the erasure has completed — the code is evidence that the work is already done, not a ticket number for work still queued. Instagram then shows you this page with that code in the address bar, which is how a code comes to appear at the top of this page.
What we delete
- The content of the Instagram Direct Messages we hold for you, including any images you sent.
- Your Instagram profile details — username, display name, and profile picture.
- Your name, email address, and phone number, where you gave them to a studio through us.
- The Instagram identifier that links those records to you, so no later message is re-associated with the erased identity.
What we keep, and why
De-identified booking and payment records survive the deletion. They no longer name you or point back to your Instagram account, and they are retained because studios are required to keep financial records. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention position.
If you are a studio owner or artist
Removing INKY.Studio from your own Instagram account revokes our access to it, so we stop receiving and answering messages for that account. It does not erase the data already held. To delete your INKY.Studio account and the studio data behind it, email us using the address below.
